Island Wedding Venues Queensland – Amy & Jamie
An Island Hideaway has been in operation since 2007 and is recognised as one of the top Island Wedding Venues Queensland. We are located on South Stradbroke Island, which is just a short boat journey from the heart of the Gold Coast.
On Saturday, 13 September 2014, the gorgeous couple Amy & Jamie tied the knot at our island paradise. Jamie and his groomsmen had a thrilling speedboat ride over to the island, while their guests travelled via a privately chartered catamaran through the calm Broadwater. Everyone then arrived to An Island Hideaway’s private jetty and stepped off the boat onto our secluded, four acre wedding venue to prepare for the ceremony.
The bride and her bridesmaids travelled over separately via a beautiful luxury vessel, Newhaven. Once they arrived, Amy, her father, flower girls and bridesmaids began their grand entrance into the wedding ceremony in our beach side chapel where Jamie and their 100 guests were eagerly awaiting.
While the whole wedding party was still all together, they had some great group photos in our green gardens, which is also one of our Island Wedding Venues Queensland ceremony locations.
Amy & Jamie were photographed by the very talented Leah from Follett Photography. They were escorted over to the beach-side of the island via our four wheel drive for some intimate photographs – our signature An Island Hideaway shots. On the return journey they also got some great shots in the lush national park bushland.
While Amy & Jamie were having their photos, their guests were enjoying pre-dinner drinks and a selection of hot and cold canapés in our gardens. They then had a Gourmet Barbeque Buffet for their main meals before having wedding cupcakes as dessert.
Amy & Jamie’s reception room was themed to match the bridesmaids tiffany blue dresses and had beach style table decorations which matched the island feel of the venue perfectly.
